Welcome to our Website
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS PHUKET
Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, has been helping Phuket problem drinkers with their recovery from alcoholism since the late 1980’s. It is one of the original locations for meetings in Thailand. We have been very successful, with many of the earliest members still sober and still coming to meetings. We provide a safe and friendly meeting place for those living locally and travelers from around the world. If you have never heard of AA but need help, or if you are already in recovery, you will find a warm welcome.
IS AA FOR YOU?
If you have a drinking problem, or if you think you might have, then we can help you. If you are concerned about a family member or a friend when can help with that too. You can read more here, make contact through this site, by email or phone, or you can just come along to one of our daily meetings.
HOW IT WORKS
Recovery in AA is built around fellowship and sharing experience. When we realized our drinking was out of control, or may be heading that way, we needed help. But we didn’t want to be lectured at by people who didn’t understand. In AA we found people who understood because they were like us – problem drinkers with the same fears, crazy behavior, guilt and hopelessness. If you think you need us, then we want to help. And helping you helps us too, in keeping our fellowship strong for those to come. There is nothing to pay to be a member, you just need to come along, decide if it is for you and then stick around. If you follow the simple programme on offer your drinking problems will be over – that’s a promise.
AA PHUKET has a presence right across the island of Phuket. Meetings are arranged by different groups who all follow the AA Traditions. We can only help problem drinkers, not those with other addictions. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety and by sticking to this we are successful. You will find regular English Language meetings in Patong, Phuket Town, Chalong and Bangtao. Scandinavian language meetings are held in Karon and Thalang during high season -October to April only. Recovery in AA works regardless of language, so we would love to see you wherever you are from.
About Phuket AA
